Before private practice, I worked as a therapist in: made home visits in Mexicantown (Detroit) for the severely persistently mentally ill (in Spanish); worked for the UM-SAPAC (Sexual Assault Prevention Awareness Center) providing crisis counseling on the phone with victims/survivors in crisis; went to the ER when the UM-SAPAC had a student who was victimized, helped her through the rape kit experience, advocated for her and helped her get connected to resources; I lead Domestic Violence groups (in Spanish) for men called the, “Batterer’s Intervention Program” at Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County; I worked as a Medical Social Worker in the UM Emergency Department; I worked in an outpatient behavioral health unit in a community hospital for 3+ years; I worked in a group counseling private practice clinic specializing in relationships and couples counseling; I provided weekend couples retreats; I worked in a group counseling private practice clinic in Novi specializing in addictions and relationships; and since 2015, I have been full-time in my own private practice.
